After an accident, the full extent of resulting injuries may not become apparent until months have gone by. Remember, it is the job of the party offering to settle your claim to get you to agree to settle for as little money as possible. It can often be tempting to accept a small settlement to move past the incident as quickly as possible, but be wary of these quick settlements. Once you have accepted a settlement of your claim, you are not allowed to recover any compensation for any injuries, even if they were unknown at the time you originally settled.
